about

I wrote this song in July of 2015, after a long weekend of staying out too late and feeling sorry for myself about a lot of stupid things. I spent some time with someone from my past in the late springtime of 2015, and was wondering what it must have been like for her to deal with my stupid bullshit for so long. This is a song about what I think might have gone through someone's head when they were trying to make sense to a person they were trying to break up with.

lyrics

I've marched about as far as I'm willing to go. It's been a long time coming, I should have known. We've been living in sin, yeah baby, and it's starting to show. Let's get a grip on things now, baby, you've got to go. I don't need you anymore. (What?) A broken record is spinning out of control. I sent a message on the asshole express, and it didn't show. There must be some kind of effect that I didn't know. I guess I wanted some respect that you couldn't show.
